12 Days of So Fabulously Sweet : Day 1 : What to Wear : Tacky Sweater Party

“The tragedy of life is not that it ends so soon, but that we wait so long to begin it.”  ~W. M. Lewis
Hey sweetie pies! Now if you are a true sweetie pie of mine then you probably noticed that I did not post on Wednesday or Friday of this week. Well I can explain myself. I have purposely not posted anything because.... I am doing a special series on my blog called 12 Days of So Fabulously Sweet where I will do a blog post (wait for it....) Every Day up til Christmas Eve!!!! *THROWS CONFETTI* I will be sharing everything related to the holidays such as gift guides, to dos, outfit inspirations, and more! Don't worry I will still post the occasional OOTD. :) I will be sharing some of the things that I am doing for the holiday season on here as well as all of my other social medias so make sure you keep a look out! I absolutely love EVERYTHING about the holiday season and I figured why not share the fun with you all?!

So for day 1 I figured I would share what to wear for an Ugly Sweater or Tacky Sweater Party. Now for some people this can be dreadful considering that tacky Christmas sweaters can be downright well, TACKY!

No need to fear because I am going to share three outfit ideas to glam up your look and have a little fun with the dreaded tacky Christmas sweater. These looks will totally have you re-thinking what to wear to a tacky sweater party!

Untitled #368

This first outfit, I opted for a solid bright skirt but left the entire outfit in one neutral color. This helps to bring the entire look together and keeps the look from becoming too busy. I also played with different textures (which I am loving right now) such as knit, leather and suede. I love this look it's fun, flirty and feminine with a touch of edgy.

Tacky Sweater Outfit

With the second outfit, it is all about proportions. So opt for an oversized sweater, or just buy out of the men's section and pair with skinny jeans. To add a sexy flair to this look, I opted for this knee high boots with a fedora to add an easy laid back feel to the look. Since it is the holidays, sparkles are a must! These earrings and bracelet are a new addition to my boutique and I am in LOVE! These two pieces add just the right amount of sparkle! And of course an envelope clutch to hold your party essentials. Is the cold weather brutal? Try tossing a cocoon coat such as this one in a bright color over your shoulders. There's just something so cool and sophisticated about a coat draped over the shoulders.

Ok so the idea of a tacky sweater is really cramping your glamorous style? Well here's an option to consider, try a more fitted sweater or maybe even one in the same color as everything else that you're wearing for a monochromatic look. This look is a great mix of playing with proportions as well as textures with a pop of color. Throw on your slightly fitted sweater over a sequined dress with sexy patterned tights and pumps. To add more glam or become a full Glamazon as I call it, throw on a faux fur coat with statement earrings. You can also add a bold red lip with minimal makeup to keep your outfit the focal point. Now I know this look is a little over the top but it's the holidays! I am a sucker for any and everything FABULOUS! (But yall already knew that. ;)

Which look best suites your style? 1, 2, or 3? Leave me a comment below!

As always, XO and Stay FAB! ~ Stormie

How to Make Metallic Work for your Office Wardrobe - Twirling in Rose Gold

"To dare is to lose one's footing momentarily. To not dare is to lose oneself." ~ Soren Kierkegaard

Hey hey sweetie pies, happy Tuesday! One trend that I am loving for Spring is the metallic trend. I am spying it everywhere from shoes to clothing to accessories. I raved awhile back about my obsession with this skirt that I got from Charlotte Russe. I love it so much that I had to feature it again on here! For this particular look, I opted to for a more work appropriate ensemble. I paired it with this ruffle blouse that I got ages ago from New York and Company. Even though this piece is no longer available, I linked some ruffle blouses just as fabulous as they are affordable below.

To keep it business casual, I opted to pair it with a blazer and my fave booties. That way you are still covered but fashionable. You can totally make metallic work for the office by letting it be the focal point and pairing it with neutrals. That way you won't be going overboard, especial…
