Style 101 : How to Use your Makeup as an Accessory or Foundation

"Most of the shadows of this life are caused by our standing in our own sunshine." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson

Hey sweetie pies! I hope you all had a great week! For today's post, I want to share how you can use your makeup to amp up your outfit! Makeup seems to be taking the world by storm. Especially with the cosmetics industry working around the clock to bring hot, new and improved products constantly. If you are a real and true makeup junkie or just wear a touch of lip color for just special occasion, you can use makeup as an accessory or foundation for an outfit.

Got a bold lip color but have no idea what to wear with it? Use that color as a foundation to create a color palette around your outfit. I started with True Brown K from Kylie Jenner's LipKit. I personally like this dark unique color.

I love the soft pink neutral eye look which inspired this outfit. The blush or rose quartz here looks beautiful. Due to the soft pinks and neutrals found in this eye makeup, I wanted to incorporate that into other aspects of the look. With a dash of serenity and some neon colors, this look definitely offers an unexpected edge.

For the final look, I opted for a more dramatic makeup look. Since the makeup is very bold, I opted to keep the rest of the outfit simple and minimal. Here I treated the lipstick as an accessory and added a pair of matching pumps to help bring out that red. By doing this, I add a fun pop of color.

I hope this inspires you at styling your makeup differently. Start small and work your way from there. It can be a lot more fun that you think.

Whatever you're doing this weekend, have fun and be safe!

How to Make Metallic Work for your Office Wardrobe - Twirling in Rose Gold

"To dare is to lose one's footing momentarily. To not dare is to lose oneself." ~ Soren Kierkegaard

Hey hey sweetie pies, happy Tuesday! One trend that I am loving for Spring is the metallic trend. I am spying it everywhere from shoes to clothing to accessories. I raved awhile back about my obsession with this skirt that I got from Charlotte Russe. I love it so much that I had to feature it again on here! For this particular look, I opted to for a more work appropriate ensemble. I paired it with this ruffle blouse that I got ages ago from New York and Company. Even though this piece is no longer available, I linked some ruffle blouses just as fabulous as they are affordable below.

To keep it business casual, I opted to pair it with a blazer and my fave booties. That way you are still covered but fashionable. You can totally make metallic work for the office by letting it be the focal point and pairing it with neutrals. That way you won't be going overboard, especial…

How to Style - B+W Striped Dress 3 of 3 Ways

"We must be willing to let go of the life we planned in order to have the life that is waiting for us." ~ Joseph Campbell
Hey hey sweetie pies I am excited to show you the third way that I styled this dress from Rainbow. I opted to wear it tunic style with a pair of jeans and strappy heels. If the length is too long you can opt to leave two or three buttons closed and tie the ends of the shirt into a knot. It helps you  pull off that easy casual look. You can easily create variations of this look by swapping a few things. You can easily swap out the heels for some flat mules for the perfect casual spring outfit. Or you swap out the jeans for long distressed shorts with sandals for sexy casual look. Even though I have styled this dress 3 ways, the options are really endless. Make sure to check out the 1st or 2nd way that I styled this dress. Which look is your fave? 1, 2, or 3?! Leave your thoughts below I would love to hear!
