The Importance of Listening to your Heart

"It is important to express oneself...provided the feelings are real and are taken from your own experience." ~ Berthe Morisot
Hey sweetie pies, I hope you all are having are a great week so far! Mine has been pretty good, I won't complain you know? I have been doing a lot of thinking. What is that I want to do with my life? What I want my future to be? Where do I see myself a year from now? 5 years? 10 years? I have an idea of what I want my future to be like but I also want to make sure that I have a plan for myself.  This required me to do some soul searching and think about my many passions.
I have always believed that you should do what you love, what makes you happy. There is a reason why there are things that you love or always thinking about. Think about what comes easy to you. What is something that you love that you can't go a day without thinking about it? I had an inspiring conversation with a new friend a couple of days ago and she made me realize jus…

Style By StormieJ : STYLE DIARIES - Inspired by The Carrie Diaries

"The position of the artist is humble. He is essentially a channel." ~ Piet Mondrian
Hey sweetie pies, happy Monday! As many of you know, I have been sick for the past week fighting a nasty cold. I kept a low profile for most of the week. I barely left my bed this past weekend because I felt so bad. No worries, I feel a lot better now. During my "bed quarantine" I binged watched a lot of TV shows including The Carrie Diaries. It is no longer a continued series :( but it was a prequel to Sex and the City.
I love love love both shows! The Carrie Diaries is one of my fave shows on Netflix. One of the many reasons why I love the show is because of Carrie's style! I am in total swoon over the color palettes, the play on prints and textures, the chic accessories - pretty much everything I live for when it comes to style! #FASHIONADDICT lol
After watching both seasons, I felt so inspired to create some looks of my own, in real life and online. (No worries, the looks …

Favorite Drugstore Foundations Summer 2016

"At some point in life the world's beauty becomes enough. You don't need to photograph, paint, or even remember it. It is enough." ~ Toni Morrison
Hey sweetie pies, happy Monday! I recently picked up a new drugstore foundation and I got to thinking that I needed to share with you all my fave drugstore foundations. I also wanted to tailor it to theme of summer because wearing a full face of makeup in the summer can sometimes be a drag. Especially if you combo-oily skin like your girl here. You will definitely want something that is light coverage but definitely does the job and help with oil control. I figured I would share a few of my fave drugstore foundations that are great for the summer.
1. L'Oreal Infallible Matte Foundation A lot of beauty bloggers and YouTubers have raved about this product! It has a nice consistency and of course it is MATTE! Yes please!
2. Covergirl Queen Collection All Day Flawless Foundation I also like this one as well but wouldn'…

Date Day Lookbook Summer 2016

"The artist never entirely knows - We guess. We may be wrong, but we take leap after leap in the dark." ~ Agnes de Mille

Hey sweetie pies, happy Friday! Woot - woot! I know that Friday is a good "date" day for a lot of people. David and I's date day is on a Wednesday because he is usually off. Instead of date night we will have "date day", which is simply doing something together as a couple during the day.
I love doing different things and trying to get creative for date ideas in general. If you all want me to do a separate post on date ideas, let me know.  I figured that I would share some outfit ideas ideal for a date day. Whether that's a picnic, a drive-in movie,  a bike ride, lunch whatever, I have a look for you! Check out these style sets below and tell me what you think!

Dreaming of a Tropical Paradise

"They always say time changes things, but you actually have to change them yourself." ~ Andy Warhol

Hey sweetie pies, I hope you all are having a great week! I have been itching to get to a beach. I love sticking my toes in sand and feel the riding waves coming in. And of course, the bluer the water, the better. I figured that I would let today's post be inspired by daydreams of sitting oceanside with a drink in hand.

I wanted to create a look with the colors blue, yellow and turqouise - complimented by a bold red lip.

A flowy high-low skirt with minimal llace up heels scream sexy! These bold statement earrings are the only pieces of jewelry I needed and paired with these Betsey Johnson sunglasses. I have been obsessed with these! They definitely scream summer time!

What places are you dreaming of traveling to? I would love to go to Bora Bora and Rome one day among countless other places. (Those two just happen to be at the top of my list)  Leave me your thoughts belo…

Natural Hair Journey So Far July 2016

"Kind words do not cost much. Yet they accomplish much." ~ Blaise Pascal
Hey Sweetie pies and Happy Monday! I hope you all enjoyed your weekend. Mine was pretty fun and relaxing. Today's post is about me sharing my natural hair journey with you all. (That is, my journey thus far.) And yes I say journey because I don't personally see this process of returning to natural as just an action and that it has a definitive end. Now for my natural sisters you may know what I mean when I say that.

So let's rewind real quick, I started getting perms to straighten my hair around the age of 8 and up, until last January. That is when I started transitioning to natural. My hair was always breaking off and thin and often hard to maintain. I decided that I wanted to return to natural for a healthier hair. I couldn't stomach doing the "big chop" (besides my head is too big for that lolz!). So I stopped perming or relaxing my hair and gradually cut off the dead ends.…

June Favorites 2016

"Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures." ~ Henry Ward Beecher
Hey Sweetie Pies! Happy Friday! I hope you all have had a great week. We made it to Friday whoop whoop! Is this year flying by to anyone else or it is just me? It is kind of crazy that we are already in July. I could've sworn that we were just celebrating Valentine's day, haha! Well since we are in July, might as well celebrate and do a little reflecting on the month of June. I want to share all the things that I loved during the month of June from fashion, beauty, skincare and music!
1. Jardins Du Midi Eau de Parfum This fragrance is inspired by a midday, sunlit walk through the lush orchards of the South of France. Notes include peach nectar, bergamot, jasmine sambac, white voilet and vanilla absolute. This parfum is fresh and bright, making it perfect to wear all day and night. I love this scent because it is not too overbearing and it lasts all day lon…

Vacay Series 2016 : Rock these On-Trend Styles this Summer!

"I would rather be ashes than dust! I would rather that my spark should burn out in a brilliant blaze than it should be stifled by dry-rot.  I would rather be a superb meteor, every atom of me in magnificent glow, than a sleepy and permanent planet. The function of man is to live, not to exist. I shall not waste my days trying to prolong them.  I shall use my time."  ~ Jack London
Hey sweetie pies, happy Wednesday! I hope you all had a safe and fun 4th of July! I am continuing my vacay series with today's post - stylish trends to rock this summer.
