Style By StormieJ : STYLE DIARIES - Inspired by The Carrie Diaries

"The position of the artist is humble. He is essentially a channel." ~ Piet Mondrian

Hey sweetie pies, happy Monday! As many of you know, I have been sick for the past week fighting a nasty cold. I kept a low profile for most of the week. I barely left my bed this past weekend because I felt so bad. No worries, I feel a lot better now. During my "bed quarantine" I binged watched a lot of TV shows including The Carrie Diaries. It is no longer a continued series :( but it was a prequel to Sex and the City.

I love love love both shows! The Carrie Diaries is one of my fave shows on Netflix. One of the many reasons why I love the show is because of Carrie's style! I am in total swoon over the color palettes, the play on prints and textures, the chic accessories - pretty much everything I live for when it comes to style! #FASHIONADDICT lol

After watching both seasons, I felt so inspired to create some looks of my own, in real life and online. (No worries, the looks I created from my wardrobe you will see on the blog :) ) I went to work creating different style sets based on different patterns and colors.

Don't get me wrong when I say this, but creating these looks were the most fun to make out of all of the style sets that I've made thus far. I think the reason why I had the most fun is because there were no restrictions or guide lines. I am usually creating looks for this or that event or occasion. It was liberating just to create for the sake of creating.

I was thinking... what if I created lookbooks based on the different characters from Sex and the City? I think that would be a lot of fun! Leave your thoughts below!

How to Make Metallic Work for your Office Wardrobe - Twirling in Rose Gold

"To dare is to lose one's footing momentarily. To not dare is to lose oneself." ~ Soren Kierkegaard

Hey hey sweetie pies, happy Tuesday! One trend that I am loving for Spring is the metallic trend. I am spying it everywhere from shoes to clothing to accessories. I raved awhile back about my obsession with this skirt that I got from Charlotte Russe. I love it so much that I had to feature it again on here! For this particular look, I opted to for a more work appropriate ensemble. I paired it with this ruffle blouse that I got ages ago from New York and Company. Even though this piece is no longer available, I linked some ruffle blouses just as fabulous as they are affordable below.

To keep it business casual, I opted to pair it with a blazer and my fave booties. That way you are still covered but fashionable. You can totally make metallic work for the office by letting it be the focal point and pairing it with neutrals. That way you won't be going overboard, especial…

How to Style - B+W Striped Dress 3 of 3 Ways

"We must be willing to let go of the life we planned in order to have the life that is waiting for us." ~ Joseph Campbell
Hey hey sweetie pies I am excited to show you the third way that I styled this dress from Rainbow. I opted to wear it tunic style with a pair of jeans and strappy heels. If the length is too long you can opt to leave two or three buttons closed and tie the ends of the shirt into a knot. It helps you  pull off that easy casual look. You can easily create variations of this look by swapping a few things. You can easily swap out the heels for some flat mules for the perfect casual spring outfit. Or you swap out the jeans for long distressed shorts with sandals for sexy casual look. Even though I have styled this dress 3 ways, the options are really endless. Make sure to check out the 1st or 2nd way that I styled this dress. Which look is your fave? 1, 2, or 3?! Leave your thoughts below I would love to hear!
