Hidden Treasures

"There is no must in art because art is free." ~ Wassily Kandisky

Something that I have been digging lately is thrifting and rummaging. Once upon a time, thrifting was practically considered a taboo of sorts. People never dared to mention that a cute blouse, shoes or even a bed frame was a secondhand product found at a thrift or antique store. But major thanks to bloggers and style stars alike, thrifting is all the rage! I guess the statement 'Another person's trash is another person's treasure' stands true.

There are so many beautiful treasures in the world and I think that true treasures are timeless. Whether that is a clock, a string of pearls, a handbag or tea cup set - I feel that with great care, these treasures can be enjoyed by mulitple people.

Some of the many benefits of thrifting include:
-Budget friendly
- Getting unique one-of-a-kind items
-Getting items that you won't find anywhere else
-Having fun shopping because you 'discover' something new to you
-Getting to experience with your style more with  unique one-of-a-kind items

Some places that I love to shop for hidden treasures here in Houston
-The Open Thrift Resale Shop
-Antiques and More
-August Antiques

There are several more antique stores and thrift shops - definitely making it one of the top cities in the U.S. for summer antiquing. There are so many it is practically impossible to list them all in fear that you will forget one! If you have never roamed through an antique at least once in your life, I encourage you to do so! You never know what hidden treasures await you!

How to Make Metallic Work for your Office Wardrobe - Twirling in Rose Gold

"To dare is to lose one's footing momentarily. To not dare is to lose oneself." ~ Soren Kierkegaard

Hey hey sweetie pies, happy Tuesday! One trend that I am loving for Spring is the metallic trend. I am spying it everywhere from shoes to clothing to accessories. I raved awhile back about my obsession with this skirt that I got from Charlotte Russe. I love it so much that I had to feature it again on here! For this particular look, I opted to for a more work appropriate ensemble. I paired it with this ruffle blouse that I got ages ago from New York and Company. Even though this piece is no longer available, I linked some ruffle blouses just as fabulous as they are affordable below.

To keep it business casual, I opted to pair it with a blazer and my fave booties. That way you are still covered but fashionable. You can totally make metallic work for the office by letting it be the focal point and pairing it with neutrals. That way you won't be going overboard, especial…

How to Style - B+W Striped Dress 3 of 3 Ways

"We must be willing to let go of the life we planned in order to have the life that is waiting for us." ~ Joseph Campbell
Hey hey sweetie pies I am excited to show you the third way that I styled this dress from Rainbow. I opted to wear it tunic style with a pair of jeans and strappy heels. If the length is too long you can opt to leave two or three buttons closed and tie the ends of the shirt into a knot. It helps you  pull off that easy casual look. You can easily create variations of this look by swapping a few things. You can easily swap out the heels for some flat mules for the perfect casual spring outfit. Or you swap out the jeans for long distressed shorts with sandals for sexy casual look. Even though I have styled this dress 3 ways, the options are really endless. Make sure to check out the 1st or 2nd way that I styled this dress. Which look is your fave? 1, 2, or 3?! Leave your thoughts below I would love to hear!
