Blog-Mas! - Holiday Themed Monthly/Weekly Layouts : Happy Planner

"There are seven days in the week. Someday is not one of them."
Hey hey sweetie pies. I hope you are doing well. Due to my absence from the blog due to dance work obligations, I will be blogging for the next two weeks Monday - Friday. This will be my version of "Blogmas" since I have been pretty absent for awhile. During Blog-mas I will be offering content in fashion, lifestyle, dance as well as holiday themed content. Even though I am still in rehearsals, I won't have any more shows until January so I will be able to dedicate the time that I need to you all. I am also trying to find a way to continue to be proactive on here once the shows start next year.  To start off Blog-mas I figured I would share my planner layouts for this month! This is my absolute favorite time of the year and I wanted my planner to reflect that. With a schedule full of parties, rehearsals, performances and events, organization and time management this month is extremely vital for me…

October & November Favorites 2017

"When you know your name, you should hang on to it, for unless it is noted down and remembered, it will die when you do." ~ Toni Morrison
Hey hey sweetie pies! I hope all has been well! I have been trying out new products and have gotten new goodies since my last monthly favorites post. I have favorites for fashion, beauty and some new songs that I have been loving. Check out my favorites below.

I have been loving my Celine dupe "shadow" sunglasses. I snagged these beauties at Charming Charlie which are no longer available. I managed to find a similar black pair that definitely tops the cost for the real thing. A real pair of these Celine sunglasses will put you back $300+! I haven't been able to get enough these as I love the boldness as well as the style! Ripley Aviator Sunglasses
I don't have a picture of these on the blog yet but I love the shape and style of these! They go perfect with any boho inspired looks that I create. I will make sure to do a loo…

STORY TIME: I've Been Self Healing (and didn't even know it)

"Whether you think you can or you can't, you're right." ~ Henry Ford

Hey hey sweetie pies. It is currently 1:01 am as I am writing this. Low key wondering why I am up as my alarm is set to go off in another 4 1/2 hours. Something had been eating away at me and told me that I needed to blog. I need to blog for a number of reasons, one being because I haven't posted a blog post in a while. I have been putting my blog on the back burner - definitely not intentional. It is definitely more so because I have been working on some other things that are close to my heart. This post was inspired by a brief conversation that I had with a dance friend. I won't mention her name as she will probably know once she reads this. I have been dancing for awhile now but I noticed some time back that I was dancing for the wrong reasons. I was still dancing and enjoying myself but it was more about the financial benefit than the emotional or mental benefit. You see dance has becom…

Utilitarian Babe

"Don't wait. The time will never be just right." ~ Napoleon Hill
Happy hump day sweetie pies! For today's post I am sharing this outfit that I wore last week. I wanted to wear this utilitarian jacket and I figured why not offer to wear it with some olive pants and oversized button down? I created the side tuck so that the shirt wouldn't overwhelm my frame. Plus I don't want to look like a bag lady. I wanted to keep this look a little tough so I opted for these boots - plus they are comfortable! I threw on my backpack purse and completed the look with these sunnies, layered gold jewelry and a red lip. The red lip allowed me the feminine touch that I wanted while keeping the rest of my outfit casual with a slight edge. The best tip when layering necklaces is to opt for various lengths so that it doesn't overwhelm the look or come off tacky.
My show "One Nation Project" opens Friday and I am beyond excited! I haven't played in any musicals si…

Feeling Sexy in Chunky Knits! - Outfit Inspiration

"Art is the only way to run away without leaving home." ~ Twyla Tharp
Hey sweetie pies it is HUMP DAAYY! I hope this Wednesday is treating you well. For today's post I am back with my fave black pencil skirt (similar here and here). For this look, I opted for this open knit cable sweater for a more revealing look. I would wear something like this while going out in the daytime or on the weekend with my girlfriends. Pair with a beautiful bralette to peep through the sweater and you get that juxtaposition if you opt for a lace bralette.

This particular sweater is slightly cropped so it stops right above the waistline. Since my skirt is high waist, it went together perfectly! I don't like showing a lot of skin at one time so the sliver of my waist with the additional peep through was just enough! I feel super sexy in this look without exposing much and let me just tell you that I love that!
I definitely wanted to keep this look as casual and make something different f…

My Top Tips for Boosting your Creativity!

"It is important to express oneself...provided the feelings are real and are taken from your own experience." ~ Berthe Morisot
Happy Monday sweetie pies! For all of my creatives out there, whether you're a writer, painter, singer, musician, dancer etc. all at one time or another struggled with staying creative. While some believe one never runs out of creativity, others may believe that creativity has it's moments. That creativity has an ebb and flow to it. I rather believe the latter. I definitely get writer's block and dancer's block alike. There are times when I struggle with something creatively speaking and it drives me crazy! I think often times we creatives are perfectionists who see the world in a perfect way and like to make that our reality by creating it ourselves. Or perhaps we feel that the world ignores the things that are wrong and chooses to exploit those things, bringing those things center stage. (Literally and figuratively)  Whether you fa…

2 Day to Night Looks for the Modern Woman on the Go! | Collab

"The principles of true art is not to portray, but to evoke." ~ Jerzy Kosinski
This post is in collaboration with Thinking Boutique. While some of the products were gifted to me all opinions are my own.
Hey hey sweetie pies! I am excited to bring you today's post! I had the luxury of shopping at Thinking Boutique and it was so much fun! Not only do they awesome clothing but they also offer other services and classes but more on that later. :) From seeing all of the beautiful clothes to the unique Houston based jewelry lines (that is often handmade) there is something to fit your style needs. The ladies were so resourceful and helpful in helping me select clothing items. It was hard to narrow it down but I was able to take home 3 pieces that I loved. I wanted to share 2 day and night looks for the Modern Woman on the Go. Check it out below!

This first look is perfect for the girl boss who means business and is all about getting the job done. The first piece I styled is t…

Feeling Feminine with Chunky Knits! - Outfit Inspiration

"Every artist was first an amateur." ~ Ralph Waldo Emerson
Hey sweetie pies happy Monday! For today's post I wanted to bring out the knit wear. I am talking chunky sweaters and chunky scarfs. When it comes to chunky knits, they are usually thought to be warm and comfortable. While this statement is true, I wanted to find a way to make a chunky knit sweater fit my style. I definitely like pairing unexpected pieces together often with a feminine or edgy touch.

I decided to pair this knit sweater that I got last season from Target (similar options listed below) with my tried and true pencil skirt. I opted for an oversized fit for the sweater picking it up in an XL. This kind of skirt is perfect because of its fit which creates contrast for the loose oversized sweater. So that my waist line wouldn't get lost in the look, I decided to do a half tuck in the front. This allows the peplum, which adds feminine flair, to show and draws attention to my waist. If you ever have…
