Thinking of the Tropics

"Art will remain the most astonishing activity of mankind born out of struggle between wisdom and madness, between dream and reality in our mind." Magdalena Abakanowicz

Hey my Sweetie Pies! Happy Friday! I have a jam packed and exciting weekend planned because guess what, it's my birthday weekend! I will be turning a year older and hopefully a year wiser on the 16th! I have a lot of things planned. For starters, I am hosting a trunk show tonight here in Houston at the Fashion Truck Society from 6-9 pm and then my boyfriend has something planned for me. I have no idea what though, but I LOVE surprises so I am anxious to see what that's going to be. I always like to do something where I can be somewhat of a big kid so I am going to Dave and Busters with some friends tomorrow evening and then hitting the town tomorrow night with my girls! I am so excited! I will try to take pics so that I can show you all later.

I have been thinking lately since we are getting back in the routine of school, work and all that extra that summer is ending too soon... and I am NOT ready! (pouty face) I absolutely love the summer time it is my fave season. I definitely wouldn't mind taking an end of summer vacation. I would definitely hit up a beach or two, or an island lolz. So in honor of how I am feeling, I am rocking this tropical romper that I got a while back from Charlotte Russe.

I am not going to lie, I was a little skeptical about posting these pics because I thought I looked so exposed. I thought I looked so revealing. I sometimes struggle with my curves and how I look in certain clothes. But it is a journey, self love and positive self image is a journey definitely not a destination. I have thick thighs and a curvy midsection but I can't be afraid to rock clothes because I am not a certain size.
I just want you guys to know that even though I post pics of me on here all the time doesn't mean that I don't struggle with my image and/or what I think people may say. Then I have to remind myself that I am doing this for me, and no one else. So love yourself ladies! You will thank yourself later. :)

As always, XO and Stay FAB! ~ Stormie

Vegan Colognes: Are they Eczema Friendly? | Product Review - Derive Colognes

"Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us." ~ Wilma Rudolph

**I received samples courtesy of Derive Colognes to review. Even though these samples were given for my boyfriend David and I to review, all opinions are our own.**
As some of you may know I suffer from eczema. I first noticed I had eczema as a child and was able to keep it pretty much under control. Within the past 2-3 years it has begun to rear it's ugly head again. With all of the smog, the sweating, the heat, the stress, the fragrances and a number of other factors - it has ignited my eczema to where it is hard to use a lot of my favorite things. One of which is perfume. I love smelling good plus it helps to lift my mood. I usually prefer to spray it on my wrist and behind my ears but had to stop doing that. I then resulted to misting it on my clothes but that still would irritate my…

How to Transform your Simple Daytime Look

"I am a feminist, and what that means to me is much the same as the meaning of the fact that I am black; it means that I must undertake to love myself and respect myself as though my very life depends upon self-love and self-respect." ~ June Jordan

Hey hey sweetie pies! Today's post is a look that I have had in heavy rotation. I mean we all have that "no fail" outfit that we love to wear any and everywhere. It is super comfy and you still look put together. I opted for this cotton, slightly oversized button down and dark wash fitted jeans. I love wearing it with sandals for daytime, heels for nighttime and sneakers for weekend. For the daytime, I pretty much style it like I have here. I have just wore the shirt as is with my jeans cuffed. I paired it with this conv…
