The Importance of Not Worrying

"Love all, trust a few, do wrong to none." ~ William Shakespeare

Hey sweetie pies, happy Friday! I hope you all have had a great week and if not, I think I have just the message to cheer you up and motivate you! I for one am extremely guilty when it comes to stressing and worrying about things. Sometimes I over-analyze things and get myself ALL the way worked up. In these 24 almost 25 years of living, (My birthday is in August) I have learned that the things I usually stress over ALWAYS work themselves out. However even with doing my daily devotion, meditation and yoga, I can still have some screaming fits and want to smack a few people from time to time. (Don't judge, I am a working progress)

With all jokes aside, there is so much going on in the world right now with senseless acts of violence to politics to global warfare. It can be quite stressful and scary. My objective isn't to discuss or question anyone's political views so please don't use my platform for that. My objective is to simply express that I know and understand because I have those overwhelming feelings as well. I have to remember that God doesn't want us to worry. We are His children so there is no need to fear or worry about what's to come. It is a beautfiul thing when we put our trust in the Lord and not allow things of this world to overwhelm us. Especially to the point where we start questioning ourselves or more importantly God. Now I am not here to push religion on anyone, just simply expressing my views.

Life is short and we too often are so consumed with life that we let it swiftly pass us by. Life is meant to be enjoyed. It is meant to chase your dreams and goals. Work hard and enjoy the fruits of your labor. Life is meant is give to others as often as you can and live with a humble heart. Cherish the relationships that you have whether it be family, friends, colleagues, etc. Make sure to live a life that is meaningful to you. Discover your purpose and work towards that Every. Single. Day. I am a firm believer in that whatever God has for you, it is for you only. Nothing can change that.

Like 99% of the time we spend worrying about things are usually not that important in the grand scheme of things. We allow a lot of temporary or worldly things stress us out. I am guilty of this too. However it is something that I am working really hard on. Whenever I notice that I am starting to stress about something, I ask myself "Is this really worth stressing over?". Most of the time it is not so I try to just slow down and take a deep breath and relax.

Remember that life is something that is meant to be enjoyed and appreciated through our relationships, hard work and experiences. I know it can become a little overwhelming because of all that is going on. It can be really hard especially when it seems like something bad is always happening. If anything, let those things motivate you to do the things that your heart desires because one never knows when God is going to call us home. Live-Love-Life.

Let's end this post on a positive note. Leave me a comment below sharing something that you are grateful for. I can't wait to read your responses!

I hope you all enjoyed reading this post as much as I did writing it. :)

"Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us." ~ Wilma Rudolph

**I received samples courtesy of Derive Colognes to review. Even though these samples were given for my boyfriend David and I to review, all opinions are our own.**
As some of you may know I suffer from eczema. I first noticed I had eczema as a child and was able to keep it pretty much under control. Within the past 2-3 years it has begun to rear it's ugly head again. With all of the smog, the sweating, the heat, the stress, the fragrances and a number of other factors - it has ignited my eczema to where it is hard to use a lot of my favorite things. One of which is perfume. I love smelling good plus it helps to lift my mood. I usually prefer to spray it on my wrist and behind my ears but had to stop doing that. I then resulted to misting it on my clothes but that still would irritate my…

How to Transform your Simple Daytime Look

"I am a feminist, and what that means to me is much the same as the meaning of the fact that I am black; it means that I must undertake to love myself and respect myself as though my very life depends upon self-love and self-respect." ~ June Jordan

Hey hey sweetie pies! Today's post is a look that I have had in heavy rotation. I mean we all have that "no fail" outfit that we love to wear any and everywhere. It is super comfy and you still look put together. I opted for this cotton, slightly oversized button down and dark wash fitted jeans. I love wearing it with sandals for daytime, heels for nighttime and sneakers for weekend. For the daytime, I pretty much style it like I have here. I have just wore the shirt as is with my jeans cuffed. I paired it with this conv…
