June Favorites 2016

"Every artist dips his brush in his own soul, and paints his own nature into his pictures." ~ Henry Ward Beecher

Hey Sweetie Pies! Happy Friday! I hope you all have had a great week. We made it to Friday whoop whoop! Is this year flying by to anyone else or it is just me? It is kind of crazy that we are already in July. I could've sworn that we were just celebrating Valentine's day, haha! Well since we are in July, might as well celebrate and do a little reflecting on the month of June. I want to share all the things that I loved during the month of June from fashion, beauty, skincare and music!

This fragrance is inspired by a midday, sunlit walk through the lush orchards of the South of France. Notes include peach nectar, bergamot, jasmine sambac, white voilet and vanilla absolute. This parfum is fresh and bright, making it perfect to wear all day and night. I love this scent because it is not too overbearing and it lasts all day long. I find that on me, that the scent turns a little sweeter as the day goes on. But of course that may not be the same for you. But for the size it is a really good price. I am still on my first bottle and I bought this over a year ago!

I have been loving this lotion. It smells ah-mazing and leaves my skin super soft! Some notes include crystal peonies, sparkling champagne, and almond creme. This lotion also pairs well with any perfume I wear! (WINNING!)

3. Rose gold mirrored aviators
If you checked out my last post where I mentioned summer trends, this was definitely one of them. I LOVE mirrored sunglasses! Rose gold + mirrored sunnies = perfection! These are affordable and super cute!

4. Glitter Tape
I love love love to use glitter tape to decorate my planner for my layouts. It instantly makes my layouts look super glam! If you checked out my weekly layout post from back in May then you witnessed first hand how awesome glitter tape can be.

5. Personalized coffee tumbler
When I tell you guys that I use this every single day! Like y'all, I am obsessed! My line sister Christy got me this for Galentine's day and I have been totally swoon since then! Unfortunately I am not sure what website she ordered it from so I figured I could at least share a picture. ;)

6. L'oreal Colour Riche Lipstick
I am a sucker for a bold red lip and this one is simply another to add to the collection! You can find this at any store that sellls drugstore makeup. It is affordable and I got mine in "Zoe's Red".

"Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us." ~ Wilma Rudolph

**I received samples courtesy of Derive Colognes to review. Even though these samples were given for my boyfriend David and I to review, all opinions are our own.**
As some of you may know I suffer from eczema. I first noticed I had eczema as a child and was able to keep it pretty much under control. Within the past 2-3 years it has begun to rear it's ugly head again. With all of the smog, the sweating, the heat, the stress, the fragrances and a number of other factors - it has ignited my eczema to where it is hard to use a lot of my favorite things. One of which is perfume. I love smelling good plus it helps to lift my mood. I usually prefer to spray it on my wrist and behind my ears but had to stop doing that. I then resulted to misting it on my clothes but that still would irritate my…

How to Transform your Simple Daytime Look

"I am a feminist, and what that means to me is much the same as the meaning of the fact that I am black; it means that I must undertake to love myself and respect myself as though my very life depends upon self-love and self-respect." ~ June Jordan

Hey hey sweetie pies! Today's post is a look that I have had in heavy rotation. I mean we all have that "no fail" outfit that we love to wear any and everywhere. It is super comfy and you still look put together. I opted for this cotton, slightly oversized button down and dark wash fitted jeans. I love wearing it with sandals for daytime, heels for nighttime and sneakers for weekend. For the daytime, I pretty much style it like I have here. I have just wore the shirt as is with my jeans cuffed. I paired it with this conv…
