The Importance of Listening to your Heart

"It is important to express oneself...provided the feelings are real and are taken from your own experience." ~ Berthe Morisot

Hey sweetie pies, I hope you all are having are a great week so far! Mine has been pretty good, I won't complain you know? I have been doing a lot of thinking. What is that I want to do with my life? What I want my future to be? Where do I see myself a year from now? 5 years? 10 years? I have an idea of what I want my future to be like but I also want to make sure that I have a plan for myself.  This required me to do some soul searching and think about my many passions.

I have always believed that you should do what you love, what makes you happy. There is a reason why there are things that you love or always thinking about. Think about what comes easy to you. What is something that you love that you can't go a day without thinking about it?
I had an inspiring conversation with a new friend a couple of days ago and she made me realize just how precious and short life can be. It is important to do what it is that you love and that you dream of doing. The best time to do whatever it is, is NOW! I would rather live a life of 'oh well's' than 'what ifs' - wouldn't you?

So take a moment and listen to your heart. What is it that you want out of life? What makes you feel the most alive? Figure out where that is and then go there. Don't let another day pass that you don't work on your goals and dreams. I know I won't be letting that happen anymore. I challenge all of my sweetie pies to do a little soul searching and discover your passion, your gift, your goal and then work towards that. Plan, pray and then execute - remember that.

What is something that you have always wanted to do but didn't for whatever reason? Maybe it was because of fear, financial reasons, no plan, or perhaps you didn't feel it was worth pursuing? The main reason why I wasn't pursuing my dreams like I should was because of fear of failing. But if I never try then I have already failed myself regardless. Honestly, that was a scary thing for me to admit just then. I always knew deep down that I was afraid yet I would always come up with some excuse as to why I wasn't chasing my dreams. Vulnerability is a beautiful thing because it humbles you and causes you to realize what really matters.
I would love to hear your thoughts below. Remember we are family here so this is a no judgement zone. Sharing in fears and thoughts can be a scary feeling at first but once you let those negative feelings out it is quite liberating. :)

As always, XO and Stay FAB! ~ Stormie

"Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us." ~ Wilma Rudolph

**I received samples courtesy of Derive Colognes to review. Even though these samples were given for my boyfriend David and I to review, all opinions are our own.**
As some of you may know I suffer from eczema. I first noticed I had eczema as a child and was able to keep it pretty much under control. Within the past 2-3 years it has begun to rear it's ugly head again. With all of the smog, the sweating, the heat, the stress, the fragrances and a number of other factors - it has ignited my eczema to where it is hard to use a lot of my favorite things. One of which is perfume. I love smelling good plus it helps to lift my mood. I usually prefer to spray it on my wrist and behind my ears but had to stop doing that. I then resulted to misting it on my clothes but that still would irritate my…

How to Transform your Simple Daytime Look

"I am a feminist, and what that means to me is much the same as the meaning of the fact that I am black; it means that I must undertake to love myself and respect myself as though my very life depends upon self-love and self-respect." ~ June Jordan

Hey hey sweetie pies! Today's post is a look that I have had in heavy rotation. I mean we all have that "no fail" outfit that we love to wear any and everywhere. It is super comfy and you still look put together. I opted for this cotton, slightly oversized button down and dark wash fitted jeans. I love wearing it with sandals for daytime, heels for nighttime and sneakers for weekend. For the daytime, I pretty much style it like I have here. I have just wore the shirt as is with my jeans cuffed. I paired it with this conv…
