July and August Favorites 2018

"Success doesn't come to go to it." ~ Marva Collins

Hey hey sweetie pies! Your girl thoroughly enjoyed her birthday. Thank you so much to everyone who sent me well wishes or got your girl know who you are. ;)
One of my favorite types of blog posts/YouTube videos are favorites. I love finding out about different products and getting an honest review. These are some of the recent products that I have been using and loving lately.

Maybelline Lemonade Craze Eyeshadow Palette

I got this pallet earlier this summer. I loved the colors but I wasn't sure how it would transfer or if it would last you know? Sometimes drugstore brand eyeshadows aren't that pigmented and the color doesn't last. But this palette proved me wrong! I love this super pinky red color called ice pop! It is blend-able and you can build which I like. This color is so bold I rather it be a color that blends out nicely without being too strong. It has 4 shimmers and  8 mattes with an overall warm tone. I really like the colors, ice pop, citrus, old fashioned, sugar coated and strawberry lemonade. It also includes 3 tutorials for 3 looks on the back. I created my eye look with this palette for this post.

Clinique Chubby Stick Lip Color Balm

On most days, I am going from one thing to another. I don't wear makeup most days but I still want to look put together. I usually put on some mascara to open my eyes and some lip balm. This balm adds just enough color and tint. You can build on it if you want to wear it with a full face of makeup. I have been wearing the color grandest grape which is a little dark but I also have the color broadest berry.

MAMBI Squad Goals

You guys know I am a planner junkie! Now some may say I am late to the party on some these products but whatevs, I like what I like, lol. I recently got this sticker book, finally! I have been wanting to get my hands on this but couldn't find it. After one of my classes, I stopped at the Michael's in the area and there they were! *cue "Hallelujah" chorus* At the time, they were marked down for 40% off. I couldn't find them for that markdown but you do get some money off by clicking the link above. What I loved the most about this sticker book are the black girls! Finally, someone that looks like me! They look so cute with their different hairstyles and outfits. It has seasonal character stickers which are the most adorable thing! I have already done my layouts for September. I can't wait to show you guys - they're so cute!

If you follow me on Pinterest, or if you just came from there, then you know I am obsessed! I am  always pinning something. Whether it is style inspiration, natural haircare, dance tips or just some black girl magic - Pinterest is litty for me. I love discovering new blogs and artists and just gaining so much inspiration. Check me out if Pinterest is your thing! I love seeing new boards.

"Never underestimate the power of dreams and the influence of the human spirit. We are all the same in this notion: The potential for greatness lives within each of us." ~ Wilma Rudolph

**I received samples courtesy of Derive Colognes to review. Even though these samples were given for my boyfriend David and I to review, all opinions are our own.**
As some of you may know I suffer from eczema. I first noticed I had eczema as a child and was able to keep it pretty much under control. Within the past 2-3 years it has begun to rear it's ugly head again. With all of the smog, the sweating, the heat, the stress, the fragrances and a number of other factors - it has ignited my eczema to where it is hard to use a lot of my favorite things. One of which is perfume. I love smelling good plus it helps to lift my mood. I usually prefer to spray it on my wrist and behind my ears but had to stop doing that. I then resulted to misting it on my clothes but that still would irritate my…

How to Transform your Simple Daytime Look

"I am a feminist, and what that means to me is much the same as the meaning of the fact that I am black; it means that I must undertake to love myself and respect myself as though my very life depends upon self-love and self-respect." ~ June Jordan

Hey hey sweetie pies! Today's post is a look that I have had in heavy rotation. I mean we all have that "no fail" outfit that we love to wear any and everywhere. It is super comfy and you still look put together. I opted for this cotton, slightly oversized button down and dark wash fitted jeans. I love wearing it with sandals for daytime, heels for nighttime and sneakers for weekend. For the daytime, I pretty much style it like I have here. I have just wore the shirt as is with my jeans cuffed. I paired it with this conv…
